Have you seen the latest OSHA directive on COVID?

On March 12, 2021, OSHA published its COVID-19 National Emphasis Program – Coronavirus Disease 2019. This 19 page directive describes OSHA’s policies and procedures for implementing their new National Emphasis Program (NEP) to ensure that employees in high-hazard industries or work tasks are protected from contracting SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).

OSHA also issued an Updated Interim Enforcement Response Plan for Coronavirus Disease 2019 on March 12, 2021. The enforcement response plan provides new instructions and guidance to Area Offices and CHSOs for handling COVID-19 related complaints, referrals, and severe illness reports. The plan follows President Biden’s inauguration day executive order directing OSHA to launch a plan on COVID-19.
